Property investment is a long-term approach. In fact, in my view, any type of good investment is a long-term approach. So the reason I use a 10-year mark is basically to let buyers know that this is a long-term whole and that you should not be selling in the short term.
I would be surprised if I heard of a story where someone bought a property, held it for 110-plus years, along the coastal areas of Australia, and lost money in that investment.
And if you do short sell, all that means is that you have either lost money because it's going through a cycle or you're gonna regret it, which in most cases, making equity that you could have built if you kept the property.
So it's not about trying to time the market like one may do with the share market or crypto, et cetera. It's about time in the market. And that's why if you hold for the long term if you don't sell, you will regret it. always be a winner.
